Stephon Marbury is endorsing a line of $15 Steve and Barry’s kicks called Starburys. The premise behind the shoe is to give kids that can’t afford outrageously priced shoes a chance to purchase a pair of NBA endorsed kicks that won’t break their parent’s bank account. So what does LeBron James, endorser of Nike’s outrageously priced basketball sneakers, have to say about Marbury’s new kicks?

When a man being paid $17 million (U.S.) wears $15 shoes, it’s a statement.
That’s just what New York Knicks point guard Stephon Marbury wants.
“I just wanted to do something different to make a difference,” said Marbury, who was in town last night playing the Toronto Raptors.
Marbury wants to use his fame – he’s been an NBA star for a decade – to make a low-priced basketball shoe popular and reduce the pressure to buy the $100 to $200 Nikes, Reeboks and others.

Starbury is the name of the athletic shoes that kids are crazy for. They’re named for NBA All-Star and one-time Georgia Tech player Stephon Marbury, who thinks it’s crazy that kids crave expensive shoes pushed by NBA players.
Most ‘tweens and teens can’t afford sneakers that are sometimes as much as $150 a pair. And it bugged him that there were poor kids out there begging their parents to blow their money on ultra-expensive shoes. So instead of selling his name and getting a big fee for having it plastered on a pair of shoes, he worked out a deal that created these funky basketball shoes called Starburys.
The best thing about these shoes is the price. At $14.98 a pair, they’re incredibly affordable. And they’re made well enough that Marbury played an entire NBA season in them.
